Constitution

The Constitution is HSAA’s highest expression of the collective will of the membership of the Union. It stands as the ultimate authority upon which every decision is based. As such, it can only be amended by a 2/3 vote of the delegates at Convention of a special meeting.

Article 22 - Reinstatement of Membership

  1. In cases of new bargaining certificates organized using membership cards an initiation fee must be paid, even if the applicant has previously been a member of the Union.
  2. Except for an individual who has withdrawn from membership, or as provided in Article – Withdrawal of Membership, anyone who:
    1. Has previously been an active member in good standing; and/or
    2. Returns to employment in a bargaining unit represented by the Union is automatically reinstated to active membership.
