Bursaries & Scholarships

One of the many benefits of being a member is access to bursaries, funds and affiliate scholarships!

HSAA offers a variety of funds and bursaries for members to put towards various types of education or to be used for urgent needs. You can access information on guidelines, applications and deadlines on each fund or bursary page.

Affiliate Scholarships

The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), our national affiliate, also offers annual scholarships! These are available to HSAA members and their children/grandchildren. The deadline to apply for all NUPGE scholarships is in the Summer of each year. We will post the 2025 deadline when available, or you can check the NUPGE Scholarship page for updates.

Each scholarship below has a unique essay topic that changes every year. For full scholarship applications, guidelines and essay topics, please visit the NUPGE Scholarship FAQ page
