Constitution

The Constitution is HSAA’s highest expression of the collective will of the membership of the Union. It stands as the ultimate authority upon which every decision is based. As such, it can only be amended by a 2/3 vote of the delegates at Convention of a special meeting.

Article 15 - Honorary Members

  1. The Board may award honorary membership to a person who has rendered outstanding service to the Union and is not eligible for active membership.
  2. Honorary members shall be entitled, at their own expense, to attend the convention of the Union.
  3. Honorary members may, at their own expense, attend a Labour Relations Conference of the Union.
  4. Honorary members are not eligible to:
    1. Vote; or
    2. Hold office
  5. Honorary members shall not be required to pay any fees or assessments.
  6. Subject to the above, the Board may, at its discretion, designate rights, duties and obligations of honorary members.
