Article 39: Casual Employees
- Except as modified in this Article, all provisions of this Collective Agreement shall apply to Casual Employees except that Articles 10, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28 and 34 have no application to Casual Employees.

- Casual Employees shall be paid, in addition to their regular salary, five percent (5%) of their earnings at the employee’s Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of Named Holidays.
- Casual Employees required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid at one and one-half times (1 1/2X) their Basic Rate of Pay for work performed up to seven and three-quarters (7 3/4) hours. Two times (2X) their Basic Rate of Pay shall be paid for work in excess of seven and three-quarters (7 3/4) hours on such day.
- In lieu of vacation, Casual Employees shall be paid on each pay in accordance with the following.
- during the first (1st) year of such employment, six percent (6%) of their regular earnings; or
- during the second (2nd) to ninth (9th) years of such employment, eight percent (8%) of their regular earnings; or
- during the tenth (10th) to nineteenth (19th) years of such employment, ten percent (10%) of their regular earnings; or
- during each of the twentieth (20th) and subsequent years of employment, twelve percent (12%) of their regular earnings.
