Article 38: Part-Time Employees
- Except as modified by this Article, all provisions of this Collective Agreement shall apply to part-time Employees.
- Part-time Employees shall be paid, in addition to their regular salary, five percent (5%) of their earnings at the employee’s Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of Named Holidays.
- A part-time Employee required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid at one and one half times (1 1/2X) their Basic Rate of Pay for work performed up to seven and three-quarters (7 3/4) hours. Two times (2X) their Basic Rate of Pay shall be paid for work in excess of seven and three-quarters (7 3/4) hours on such day.
- Vacation accrual rates shall be pro-rated on the basis of the regularly scheduled hours worked by the part-time Employee in relation to the regularly scheduled hours for a full-time Employee.
- A part-time Employee shall accumulate sick leave credits on the basis of one and one-half (1 1/2) days per month, pro-rated on the basis of the regularly scheduled hours worked by the part-time Employee in relation to the regularly scheduled hours for a full-time Employee..
- The Basic Rate of Pay will prevail for additional hours worked by a regular part-time Employee beyond their scheduled hours provided:
- the hours worked do not exceed seven and three-quarter (7 3/4) hours per day;
- the hours worked do not exceed seventy-seven and one-half (77 1/2) hours over a period of fourteen (14) calendar days;
- the part-time Employee does not work in excess of six (6) consecutive days without a day off;
- the part-time Employee does not work in excess of ten (10) days in a fourteen (14) day period.
- Overtime shall be shared as equally as possible amongst part-time Employees who perform the work involved.
