Convention 2026

We’re excited to share that this year’s Thursday night mixer will take place at The Banquet (Unit #210 - 10332 103 Street NW) and will include dinner for the attendees. 

The Convention Social Committee is also organizing a "Buddy Walk" from hotels to The Banquet so delegates can get to know each other better. Bring your badges!

Please note: The dinner at this event will replace the dinner per diem for that day. Members not attending may claim per diem in accordance with policy. 

This year's 50/50 draw is in support of Edmonton's Food Bank and the Calgary Food Bank. 

Last year, we raised $7,000 for the Alberta Council of Women's Shelters. Let's beat it this year!

If your plans have changed, please notify us of your cancellation as soon as possible. 

Unused reservations, particularly for childcare, carry costs and impact planning. Advance notice allows us to allocate resources appropriately.

Hotels

HSAA will arrange hotel accommodations for eligible delegates and notify them of details by May 20. Hotel addresses and parking will be added here once all accommodations have been arranged.

Expenses

• Expenses for Convention will be reimbursed as per Policy 3.10: HSAA Events and Members' Expenses.
• If you are scheduled to work during the convention, submit a “Request for Time off for Union Business” form to your employer.
• Direct deposit now available for reimbursements
  • Set up or update your banking information to receive your Convention expense reimbursements by direct deposit. Your banking information will remain confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of direct deposit.
