LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #41

BETWEEN

ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES
(hereinafter referred to as the Employer)

- and -

HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
(hereinafter referred to as the Union)

RE: DEFINED BENEFIT PLAN ENHANCEMENTS 

The Parties agree to the following improvements to the defined benefits plan:

  1. Effective January 1, 2026 - Addition of continuous glucose monitoring monitors, including dexcom.
  2. Effective March 1, 2026 - Deletion of twelve (12) month insulin dependency limitation for flash glucose meters.
  3. Effective March 1, 2026 - Deletion of requirement for a written order from a healthcare professional for diabetic equipment.
  4. Effective March 1, 2026 - Increase massage therapy coverage from $50 dollars per visit to $75 dollars per visit, to a maximum of $1000 dollars per year.
  5. Effective March 1, 2026 - Dental Benefits: (changes only, other current coverages to remain) Scaling/root planing - Move 3 units of scaling from the 50% coverage to 80% coverage.
