EHS LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #10

BETWEEN

ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES
(hereinafter referred to as the Employer)

- and –

HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
(hereinafter referred to as the Union)

RE:  EHS SPECIALTY TEAMS PARTICIPATION

The Parties recognize that Employee participation on EHS Specialty Teams is of mutual benefit to Employees and the Employer.

A Specialty Team member is an EHS practitioner who provides care and service, within their scope of practice, in a non-traditional environment using a unique platform. EHS Specialty Teams are not positions, but are assignments allocated by the Employer on an as-needed basis to existing Regular Employees who already hold positions within Alberta Health Services EHS.

EHS Employees may be appointed to participate on EHS Specialty Teams. Selection of Employees for membership on EHS Specialty Teams shall be at the sole discretion of the Employer based on requests for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and eligibility will be identified on such requests for EOIs.

The length of a shift on an EHS Specialty Team is considered a regularly scheduled shift of 12 hours, for the purpose of determining eligibility for overtime in accordance with Article 12.

This Letter of Understanding will expire March 31, 2028, or upon the date of ratification of the next Collective Agreement, whichever is later.
