LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #21

BETWEEN

ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES
(hereinafter referred to as the Employer)

- and -

HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
(hereinafter referred to as the Union)

RE:  LEGACY QUALIFICATION DIFFERENTIALS
(EDUCATION ALLOWANCES)

WHEREAS the Parties recognize that some Paramedical Technical Employees were eligible for and in receipt of an Education Allowance prior to December 15, 2014.

NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agree as follows:

1. Paramedical Technical Employees employed by Alberta Health Services and in receipt of an Education Allowance prior to December 15, 2014, shall continue to receive that Education Allowance until such time as the Employee ceases to work as a Paramedical Technical Employee or leaves the employ of the Employer, whichever is earlier.

2. Basic Rate of Pay shall be deemed to be inclusive of Education Allowance paid in accordance with this Letter of Understanding.

This Letter of Understanding will expire March 31, 2024, or upon the date of ratification of the next Collective Agreement, whichever is later.
