LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #38
BETWEEN
ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES
(hereinafter referred to as the Employer)
- and –
HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
(hereinafter referred to as the Union)
RE: JOINT CLASSIFICATION COMMITTEE
The Parties agree that the purpose of the Joint Classification Committee is to exchange information, engage in discussions and make recommendations to their respective principals.
The Committee will meet in accordance with the current Terms of Reference, but no fewer than four (4) times per calendar year.
The Joint Classification Committee shall consist of:
- Subject Matter Experts from each party;
- Chairpersons established by each Party who will alternate chairing the Joint Classification Committee meetings.
Representatives from the HSAA/AHS Joint Committee may attend as observers.
The topics discussed by the Joint Classification Committee may include:
- Classification Projects and Appeal Updates;
- Out of scope inclusions and exclusions in accordance with Letter of Understanding #35
- Review of Local Condition Classifications;
- Development of new and revisions to existing Classification Specifications; and
- Discussion on other issues of mutual interest with respect to classification.
The Committee may make recommendations to their respective principals on matters discussed by the Committee and may issue joint communications as necessary.
The Parties agree to pay the expenses of their own members on the Joint Classification Committee.
The Letter of Understanding will expire March 31, 2024, or upon the date the ratification of the next Collective Agreement, whichever is later.
