Article 32: Duty Incurred Expenses
- When an Employee is required to standby at a location or event or who is dispatched on ambulance service involving travel beyond forty (40) kilometers from the station and for a period of five (5) hours or greater, they shall be entitled to the following:
5 hours to less than 6 hours –1 meal ($15)
6 hours less than 10 hours – 2 meals ($30)
10 hours – 3 meals ($45)
Daily maximum is $45
No receipt required.
- In the event that the Collective Agreement negotiated between Alberta Health Services and HSAA changes to provide a greater benefit for the hours, distances or allowances set out in that Agreement for similar reimbursement, Article 32.01 shall be deemed to be amended to match such allowances, changed hours, or distances from the date of ratification of the Alberta Health Services/HSAA Collective Agreement (but shall not apply retroactively).
- Employees that are asked to use their personal vehicles on the behalf of the Employer will be reimbursed at the rate of fifty-eight cents ($0.58) per kilometer or the highest non-taxable per kilometre rate allowed by Canada Revenue Agency, whichever is higher.
- Casual Employees travelling over two hundred kilometers (200km) round trip to work will be paid a fifty-five dollar ($55.00) travel fee. Employees will be compensated for travel limited to one claim per tour.
