LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #4
BETWEEN
STETTLER DISTRICT AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION
(hereinafter called the "Employer")
AND
HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
(hereinafter called the "Union ")
RE: PART-TIME EMPLOYEES IN THE BARGAINING UNIT
Regular Part Time Employee:
A Regular Part Time Employee (RPT) is an Employee who works a zero point five (0.5) FTE and shall be eligible for prepaid health benefits pursuant to Article 19 and the Pension Plan pursuant to Article 36 as amended below.
Notwithstanding Article 19.03, benefit premiums for an RPT shall be fifty percent (50%) paid by the Employer and fifty percent (50%) paid by the Employee.
Part-Time Implementation
(i) A Full-Time Employee may request to become a RPTat a zero point five (0.5) FTE.
(ii) The Employer may post a RPT position. The posting shall indicate that the position is a RPT with a specified guaranteed FTE of zero point five (0.5) FTE.RPT Employees may exchange shifts and/or days off subject to Article 9.08.
Where an Employee works a Shift(s) over and above their assigned FTE, additional pensions would apply as per Article 36.
Vacation pay for RPT Employee shall be in accordance with the provisions of Article 15.01 based on a 0.5 FTE.
Sick leave accruals and maximums shall be in accordance with the provisions of Article 17.02 based on a 0.5 FTE.
Named Holiday Pay for an RPT Employee shall be paid, in addition to their Basic Rate of Pay, five point two percent (5.2%) of their basic hourly rate of pay in lieu of the Named Holidays
- An Employee obliged in the course of duty to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid for all hours worked on a named holiday at two times (2X) their Basic Rate of Pay.
- Employees will be eligible for a Flexible Spending Account as per Letter of Understanding #3 prorated to $1625 for each eligible Employee.
If a request for a RPT is denied, the Employer will provide to the Employee the rationale for the decision within twenty-eight (28) days.
