Article 30: Uniform and Clothing
- The following clothing and equipment shall be supplied by the Employer to each Employee upon commencement of employment:
- one (1) three-way parka (Full Time/Part Time Employee only);
- one (1) winter hat;
- four (4) sets of pants for Full-Time/Part Time, two (2) for a Regular Casual and Casual Employee;
- upon the completion of probation, Full Time/Part Time Employees shall be entitled to be reimbursed of up to a maximum of three hundred dollars ($300) for one (1) pair of CSA approved, or equivalent, black leather work boots with rubber soles, steel or composite toe and shank, and a minimum of an 8โ upper upon provision of a receipt.
- four (4) uniform shirts for Full-Time/Part Time Employees, two (2) shirts for a Regular Casual and Casual Employee;
- four (4) short-sleeved T-shirts for Full-time/Part Time Employees, two (2) for a Regular Casual or Casual Employee;
- one (1) equipment bag (Full-time/Part Time Employee only);
- one (1) duty summer jacket; and
- Following the successful completion of the probationary period, Regular Employees shall have the option of ordering a jumpsuit in lieu of two (2) pairs of pants and two (2) shirts.
All clothing and equipment where appropriate shall have the service logo or flash.
- All clothing and equipment for all Employees shall be replaced by the Employer subject to approval.
- All clothing to be purchased shall be approved by the Clothing Committee.
- Should the uniform be mutilated, destroyed, or damaged while on duty or from excess wear, the same shall be replaced by the Employer after inspection and approval by the Manager.
- The Clothing Committee shall consist of one (1) representative from management and one (1) representative from the bargaining unit. At least one representative from each of the bargaining unit and management shall attend committee meetings when scheduled. This Committee shall be established within thirty (30) days of the signing of this Collective Agreement. The Committee will establish terms of reference.
- Upon termination for any reason, all clothing and equipment issued to an Employee must be returned to the Employer in a clean and, where possible, serviceable condition.
