Article 28: Temporary Assignments

  1. When the Employer requires an Employee to perform the duties of a higher paid classification for a temporary specified period for a full shift or longer, the Employer will pay such Employee in addition to their current salary, and retroactive to the first day of such temporary assignment, a differential computed at:  
    1. two dollars ($2.00) per hour when such assignment occurs for a position within the bargaining unit, and
    2. two dollars ($2.00) per hour when the temporary assignment is to a higher paid classification outside the scope of the bargaining unit.
  2. Employees will not be paid the premiums set out in 28.01 (a) and (b) on Named Holidays unless the Employee works on such days.
  3. An Employee temporarily assigned on a short-term basis pursuant to Article 28.01 (b) shall continue to be covered by the terms and conditions of this Collective Agreement.
