Article 10: Overtime
- Overtime is all time authorized by the Employer and worked by an Employee in excess of their regularly scheduled hours in a twenty-four (24) hour shift. Calculation of overtime will be rounded up to the nearest fifteen (15) minutes. Authorization for overtime after the fact shall not be unreasonably denied.
- The use of fatigue shall not reset overtime.
- Overtime will be paid at two times (2X) the Employee’s basic hourly rate. This overtime payment will cease and the Employee’s basic rate will apply at the start of their next regularly scheduled shift. If Active Duty starts prior to shift end and continues past new shift start, overtime will cease once the crew returns to the base station or once they are tasked to a new event.
- Full-Time Employees may agree to work shifts outside their normal shift schedule at regular rate of pay. Casuals shall have first priority as per company policy.
- Should a permanent or temporary Employee be mandated to report to work on a scheduled day off, excluding reasonable shift overrun.
- The Employee shall be paid two times (2X) their basic rate of pay.
- The Employer shall be responsible for all non-refundable costs related to vacation or travel. Employees making a claim may be required to provide proof of the loss and demonstrate attempts to mitigate their loss.
- If mandated time exceeds ten (10) hours, one (1) day off in lieu without pay shall be provided before the Employee’s next scheduled shift.
