Article 26: Protective Clothing

  1. When an Employee is required to wear protective clothing in the course of their work, it shall be the responsibility of the Employer to provide and launder such clothing.
  2. Any Employee that is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment in the course of their work, shall either have the Employer provide such equipment or reimburse the Employee in accordance with the Employer policy.
  3. Provisions in the Employer’s Corporate policy restricting payment for steel-toed work boots shall not apply. For steel-toed work boots the Millard Health policy will apply.
  4. Employees who realize damage to their clothing directly caused by the conditions of their employment shall have that clothing replaced or repaired by the Employer unless the damage is caused by the Employee’s refusal to wear protective clothing. Normal wear and tear shall not be considered the responsibility of the Employer.
