Article 10: Hours of Work
- The Parties recognize that the work is normally scheduled between 0700 hours and 2200 hours.
- Regular hours of work for a Full-time Employee, exclusive of meal periods, shall be:
- seven and three-quarter (7 ¾) work hours per day; and
- an average of seventy-seven and one-half (77 ½) work hours in a fourteen (14) day period.
- Meal Periods and Rest Periods
- Regular hours of work shall include, as scheduled by the Employer, two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes during each shift of seven and three-quarter (7 ¾) hours and exclude an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes.
- Breaks can be combined if operational requirements allow.
- Except at the discretion of the Employer, an Employee’s shift cannot start or end with a break.
- Averaging Agreements pertaining to hours of work may be implemented where mutually agreed between the Employer and the Union. The Employer must respond to an Averaging agreement request within fourteen (14) calendar days. If an Averaging Agreement is not mutually agreed between the Employer and the Employee, a rationale must be provided in writing to the Employee.
