LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING #5
BETWEEN
WHEATLAND AND ADJACENT DISTRICTS EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ASSOCIATION
-and-
HEALTH SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA
RE: RE: OTHER FINANCIAL REMUNERATION
Whereas the Union made the following proposal to the Employer:
All other financial remuneration, such as but not limited to bonuses, stipends, one-time payments, and other payments not currently in the Provincial Collective Agreement between AHS and HSAA, for the term of the Collective Agreement shall be the same, including effective dates and rates, as those negotiated in the Provincial Collective Agreement between AHS and HSAA for the applicable time frame and shall be applied retroactively where applicable.
However, the Employer could not agree to such proposal because any such other financial remuneration would be funded by Alberta Health Services (“AHS”).
It is agreed as follows:
Upon ratification of the agreement negotiated between Alberta Health Services and HSAA, if those parties have agreed to pay its HSAA represented Employees other financial remuneration, as contemplated in the Union’s proposal, above, the Employer shall petition AHS to honor and fund the same other financial remuneration for its Employees.
If AHS agrees to honor and fund the same other financial remuneration for the Employer’s Employees, the Employees shall promptly be paid such other financial remuneration upon receipt of the funds by the Employer.
