Article 26: Resignation/Termination
- An Employee shall provide to the Employer with four (4) Tour(s) of Duty notice of their desire to terminate their employment under any circumstance.
- If the required notice of termination is given, an Employee who voluntarily leaves the employ of the Employer shall receive the wages and vacation pay to which they are entitled on the day on which they terminate their employment, subject to return of Employer property within seven (7) days of the date of termination.
- Pro rata vacation pay on termination of employment will be paid in accordance with service rendered if proper notification is given. If proper notification not given, the Employee will be paid in accordance with the Employment Standards Code.
- An Employee shall be deemed to have terminated their employment when:
- they are absent from work without good and proper reason and/or the approval of the Employer; or
- they do not return from leave of absence or vacation as scheduled; or
- they do not return from layoff as required, or upon the expiry of twelve (12)
months following layoff during which time the Employee has not been recalledto work.
- If the required notice of termination is given, an exit interview with the Employer shall be granted at the Employee's request prior to termination.
