Article 13: Overtime
- Permanent or Temporary Full Time Employees Overtime is all hours authorized by the Employer and worked by the Employee in excess of their regularly scheduled shift, either immediately preceding or following a regularly scheduled shift.
Notwithstanding the above, this does not apply to those regular Employees who have voluntarily agreed to fill casual shifts as Employees listed on a "Voluntary Casual" list. All overtime hours shall be paid at a rate of one and one half times (1.5X) the Basic Rate of Pay. This overtime payment will cease and the Employee's basic rate of pay will apply at the start of their next regularly scheduled shift. - Overtime for Casual Employees
Casual "Regular Shift” Employees shall be deemed to be working overtime when required by the Employer to work more than twenty-four (24) hours per shift. These Employees will be compensated at a rate of one and one half times (1.5X) the basic rate of pay. - Straight Time For Special Assignments
The following functions shall be considered as straight time assignments:
Pow Wow Days
Rodeos
Community events directed by SHS
An Employee, at the request of the Employer, may volunteer to work at any of the above functions. An Employee volunteering to work at any of the above functions shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay, and the overtime articles shall not
apply. Should any Employee not wish to volunteer to work at any of the above functions, such wishes shall not be held against them.
By mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union, the list may be amended from time to time.
