Article 6: No Discimination
There shall be no discrimination, restriction, or coercion exercised or practiced by either party in respect of any Employee by reason of race, colour, creed, national origin, political or religious affiliation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, source of income, sexual orientation, marital status, age, physical disability, mental disability, family status, nor by reason of membership, non-membership or lawful activity in HSAA, nor in respect of an Employee or ECAA exercising any right conferred under this Collective Agreement or any applicable law of Canada or Alberta.
Article 6.01 shall not apply with respect to a refusal, limitation, specification or preference based on a bona fide occupational requirement.
The Employer, the Union and Employees recognize a joint responsibility to provide respectful, secure, and supportive work environments for all individuals. The Employer will maintain policies in support of these principles. If workplace violence or harassment has occurred, the Employer, the Union and Employees shall take appropriate action to ensure it ceases.
