Article 38: No Discrimination, Workplace Violence or Harassment

  1. There shall be no discrimination, restriction, coercion, harassment or practice affecting any Employee because of gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, religious beliefs, physical disability, mental disability, marital status, family status, source of income or sexual orientation, nor because of membership or non-membership or activity in the Union, nor because of an Employee exercising any right outlined in this agreement or any law of Canada or Alberta.
  2. The foregoing does not apply with respect to a refusal, limitation, specification or preference based on a bona fide occupational requirement.
  3. The Employer, the Union and Employees recognize a joint responsibility to provide respectful, secure and supportive work environments for all individuals. The Employer will maintain polices in support of these principles. If workplace violence or harassment has occurred, the Employer, the Union and Employees shall discuss appropriate action to ensure a safe workplace.
