- When an Employee is directed by the Employer to perform the substantive duties of a classification covered by this Collective Agreement to which is assigned a higher salary scale for a full shift or longer, they shall be paid in addition to their hourly rate as set out in the Salaries Appendix, the difference between the beginning rate in the salary scale for their classification and the beginning rate in the salary scale of the classification to which they are temporarily assigned. The resultant basic rate of pay shall not exceed the maximum rate of the salary scale of the classification to which they are temporarily assigned. This provision shall not apply where the period of temporary assignment is less than one (1) full shift.
