(hereinafter referred to as the Union)
RE: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTHCARE ACCOUNT (PDHCA)
Employees shall continue to participate in the professional development and wellness programs as established by the Company.
This Professional Development and Healthcare Account will comprise of:
Re-imbursement of up to a maximum of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) annually towards any approved continuing education or health and dental expenses.
PDHCA can be used for:
Health and Dental Expenses:
Reimbursement for health and dental expenses that are eligible medical expenses in accordance with the Income Tax Act and are not covered in whole by the benefit plans specified in Article 23 of the Collective Agreement.
Access to accredited on-line learning.
In addition to the PDHCA, Pharmacists are provided reimbursement for professional fees required to maintain their annual license to practice pharmacy. Such fees shall be covered by the Employer.
In addition to the PDHCA, if a Pharmacy Technician is required to register with the Alberta College of Pharmacists, by the Company, to fulfill the duties of their position, the registration fees shall be covered by the Employer.
Any employee who voluntarily resigns to continue their profession with another Employer shall be required to reimburse the Employer for any professional development fees that have been paid during the previous twelve (12) month period.
The PDHCA shall be implemented and administered in accordance with the Income Tax Act and applicable regulations in effect as they may exist from time to time.
