On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, a group of eight HSAA members, along with some family, volunteered at the Mustard Seed in Edmonton to prepare and serve a meal to the less fortunate in the spirit of Christmas.
We are a group of Environmental Health Officers with Alberta Health Services (AHS) who are passionate about giving back to the community in which we live. This was our fourth year volunteering at the Mustard Seed and the payoff is enormous. There is such a sense of community and care. It is always so rewarding.
This year, we sought financial aid from HSAA’s Social Justice Committee for this event. Our group was responsible for raising $1,000 to pay for the evening meal and were thrilled to learn that the committee agreed to contribute $500. It was a huge financial burden off our shoulders.
We would like to thank the HSAA Social Justice Committee for the generous financial assistance and giving back to our community. We were proud to represent HSAA and all the good work you do for us.
Thank you HSAA!
