Your Bargaining Committee met with Carewest on December 10 and 11 to continue negotiations based on both parties’ availability and discussed non-monetary bargaining proposals that were exchanged during first round of meetings.
Both parties had a good discussion on various articles and Letters of Understanding on day 1 and 2. At the end of day 2, both parties were able to sign off on additional non-monetary articles and a Letter of Understanding.
In order to continue our discussions at the table, HSAA requested the Employer to provide further availability to continue our discussion in the new year. Carewest was not able to provide any availability in the new year. Your Bargaining Committee has followed up with Carewest and the Employer has not provided any possible dates up to the date of this communication.
We are continuing to engage with Carewest to provide dates to continue bargaining. At the same time, we are exploring our options to take necessary steps to bring bargaining on track. As bargaining further progress, we’re committed to providing you with appropriate information and updates through similar communications in the future.
