2026 Convention Notice and Call for Resolutions

Event Details

The 2026 HSAA Convention will be held May 28-29, at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

Additional details on the agenda, accommodations, etc. will be provided in the new year. 

Attending Convention

Delegate participation is primarily assigned through Local Units, each of which manages its own delegate-selection process. 

  • Attend your upcoming Local Unit AGMM or contact your Local Unit Executive to learn more about the selection process for your Local Unit.
  • If a Local Unit does not use all of its delegate spots, the remaining positions are made available through a district-wide random draw.
  • Members will receive an email in March with information on how to register for the draw, if applicable in your district. 

Call for Resolutions

Convention is a key opportunity to influence change and shape the direction of your Union. Resolutions can be put forward that amend the constitution, refine policies, or set positions on key issues. These are submitted by, and then debated and voted on, by members.

*NEW* Deadline: Friday, February 27, 2026. 

* The deadline for submitting resolutions has been changed from 45 days before Convention to 90 days before Convention, following a resolution passed at the 2025 HSAA Convention.

How to submit: use the online Resolution Submission Form

Who can submit: A group of members (2 or more); a Local Unit; the Board of Directors. Both attending delegates and non-delegates can submit resolutions.
