We are facing a dangerous shortage of health-care professionals in our province.
A shortage that is felt by every single Albertan who endures longer response times and overwhelmed emergency rooms delayed surgeries and therapies and the prolonged agony of waiting, often for months on end.
Our members are living these challenges with Albertans every day.
They care so deeply for their patients but that care now comes with unmanageable workloads, constant short staffing and no work life balance.
Our members ARE health care in this province and Albertans simply CANNOT afford to lose them.
Without us, the system doesn’t work and the more professionals we lose the bigger the gaps in our care and the more Albertans who fall through the cracks.
Our members are asking for wages that respect the work our members do every day and that allow us to attract more colleagues on the frontlines so that we can continue to provide the care Albertans deserve.
