Stand With Alberta’s 30,000 Health Professionals: Add Your Name

Alberta is facing a dangerous shortage of health care professionals.

Every day, Albertans wait longer for surgeries, face delays in emergency rooms, and watch response times stretch further and further. Behind every one of those delays is a dedicated health care professional trying to do the work of two or three people, pushing through burnout and impossible workloads to keep the system running.

But they can’t keep going like this. More and more are considering leaving their profession or leaving the province altogether.

That’s why HSAA members rejected the recent tentative agreement with Alberta Health Services. This deal did not do enough to support them.

The solution is simple. Alberta needs to make serious investments in the people who provide care. That means better wages and working conditions that will help us keep the professionals we already have and attract the next generation we desperately need.
