I am Shubham Bhatia, a graduate from SAIT, eager to embark on my new journey as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. My fascination with laboratory science is deeply ingrained, fueled by a profound desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. Despite being new to the field, I am resolute in my commitment to representing and advocating for you as a potential board member with HSAA.
My journey commenced at Rockyview General Hospital, where I immersed myself in various facets of laboratory services, from phlebotomy to specimen accession, and the send-out bench. Working alongside paramedics, nurses, and unit clerks, I gained invaluable insights and experiences that shaped my understanding of the diverse and dynamic nature of our profession.
My professional voyage has taken me to several patient service centers across Calgary, including Glenmore Landing, Sunridge, Glenbrook, Avenida, Market Mall, Beddington, and Bankview. Each role brought its own set of challenges and rewards, further enriching my understanding of laboratory operations. Presently, I am fully engaged in the Anatomic Pathology department at the DSC in Calgary where I am working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant.
What drives me most is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of you, the HSAA members I will be representing. Every vial of blood I collect symbolizes a person's quest for answers a concerned parent, an optimistic individual, or someone journeying towards recovery. Knowing that our contributions directly impact their well-being fuels my passion and reinforces my dedication to serving you the dedicated professionals behind the scenes, ensuring the seamless flow of patient care.
Throughout my tenure in both hospital and patient service center settings, I have learned that teamwork is paramount. Collaborating with technologists, assistants, and clinicians has proven the importance of synergy in achieving our common goals.
I hold the belief that our current healthcare system is in a state of disrepair, impacting not only patients but also those of us who serve within it. The growing number of individuals grappling with persistent demands for overtime, ongoing organizational changes, and heightened job insecurity is alarming. My earnest desire is to address and alleviate these issues by advocating for viable solutions. I am eager to bring these concerns to the table and actively contribute to the formulation of effective remedies.
As I chart my course forward, I remain guided by an insatiable curiosity a thirst for knowledge that propels me to seek continuous improvement. How can we better support you? What emerging technologies can we leverage to streamline processes? How can we elevate the patient experience without compromising the well-being of those who facilitate their healing and recovery?
With unwavering enthusiasm and dedication, I embrace the opportunity to learn, contribute, and positively impact lives. For me, the medical field is more than employment it is a calling, and I am privileged to be part of this noble pursuit.Together, as we navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and support one
another through every step of the journey.
Thank you for considering me to represent you on this journey.
