HSAA members who are covered by the Wheatland and Adjacent Districts Emergency Medical Services Association Collective Agreement have voted to endorse the tentative agreement reached on May 13, 2025.
Of the eligible members who cast their ballot, 96% voted in favor of accepting the agreement.
This agreement will be in effect as of December 9, 2023, and covers the period of April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2027.
The agreed upon wage increases are as follows:
- Effective April 1, 2023: 2% for all classifications/all steps
- Effective April 1, 2024: 3% for all classifications/all steps
- Effective April 1, 2025: 3% for all classifications/all steps
- Effective November 25, 2025: Market adjustments per the below
- Effective April 1, 2026: 3% for all classifications/all steps
The market adjustments effective November 25, 2025, are as follows:
- Communications Specialist and Communications Supervisor – 8.44%
- Primary Care Paramedic – 8.44%
- Advanced Care Paramedic – 4%
Employees will receive retroactive wage lump sum payments, where applicable, once AHS/EHS has paid WADEMSA in that regard.
In addition, there were many other gains in your new collective agreement, including but not limited to the following:
- Starting in January 2026, pay periods will be bi-weekly, with the first pay date expected to be January 9, 2025.
- Improvement to Bereavement Leave – added “aunt, uncle, niece and nephew” to the definition of immediate family
- NEW: Supplemental Vacation entitlement (1 tour) upon reaching 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service
- Improved “shift trade” provisions
