WADEMSA Bargaining Update #1

We would like to provide you with an important update on our bargaining process.

On February 10, 2025, during our scheduled meeting, the employer was not prepared with responses to our proposals, citing a change in personnel on their bargaining committee. Rob Witty, CAO of WADEMSA has been replaced by Ryan Dahl.

While we have made progress and reached agreements on several proposals, a number of key items remain unresolved. These proposals are of significant importance to our members, and we are hopeful that we will receive responses at our next scheduled bargaining date, March 31, 2025.

Your committee remains persistent and dedicated to securing an agreement that addresses the priorities and concerns of our members.

In addition, it is with sadness that we inform you that Mackenzie Payne has stepped down from your bargaining committee. We sincerely thank Mackenzie for his vital contributions, as well as his wealth of experience and dedication as a committee member. He will be greatly missed.

On February 6, HSAA issued a call for Expressions of Interest to fill the vacancy left by Mackenzie. However, no members came forward. As a result, Thomas Walker will continue as the WADEMSA representative for this round of bargaining. We thank Thomas for his vital contribution, his experience and his continued support.

For further questions or feedback, please email BrianM@hsaa.ca or AnnV@hsaa.ca. Your input is invaluable to us.

In solidarity,
