Staff Transfers from Alberta Health Services to Assisted Living Alberta

The Government of Alberta has issued a ministerial order regarding the transfer of unionized employees from Alberta Health Services (AHS) to Assisted Living Alberta (ALA). Your current Collective Agreement will continue to apply.

HSAA can confirm that 625 health-care professionals represented by HSAA will be transferred from AHS to ALA as part of the Government of Alberta’s ongoing health care restructuring effective January 15, 2026.

Informal notice was sent to impacted members today and a formal transfer notice will follow on November 24. These notices will contain further details specific to your position and new employer.
