Provincial Health Agencies Payroll Update - Delayed

AHS has informed HSAA that the planned April 1, 2025 payroll transition from AHS to the Provincial Health Agencies (Recovery Alberta, Acute Care Alberta (including AHS and EHS), Primary Care Alberta, Assisted Living Alberta, Shared Services) has been delayed to a yet-to-be-determined date. This means:

  • Members will remain under a single employer until the payroll transition comes into effect.
  • The Letter of Understanding negotiated last fall remains in effect and continues to govern any further transitions.
  • The LOU and FAQ are linked here to view.

AHS has also made the commitment that Letter of Understanding #19 – Portability Between Alberta Health Services, Covenant Health, Bethany Nursing Home of Camrose, Lamont Health Centre and Alberta Public Laboratories will also include all of the Provincial Health Agencies established and will not be affected after the payroll transition date.
