Prairie EMS Inc. Bargaining Update #5

Your bargaining committee met with the mediator and the employer’s bargaining committee on March 19 and 20.

Where discussions stand

Before the meeting, the committee became aware of a communication from Emergency Health Services (EHS) announcing its intent to issue a Request for Proposal for most ground ambulance services.

This development has caused the employer to reevaluate its bargaining position and its previous willingness to consider monetary improvements at the table.

Your bargaining committee remains committed to the mandate provided by members and will continue to hold the employer accountable throughout this process, regardless of the broader issues between the employer and EHS.

What happens next

The parties are scheduled to meet again on April 15. At that time, the committee expects the employer to return with a more decisive approach regarding its commitment to members and the future of the contract.

Thank you for your continued patience and support throughout this process.
