Notice of 2026 HSAA Elections
Ready to step up and lead your Union?
HSAA is a democratic, member-led Union where every member plays a vital role in shaping our direction. One of the most important ways members help set our strategic direction is by electing a President, Vice-President and Board Members. These are fellow members who are accountable to you and responsible for making decisions that are in the best interest of the entire membership.
As we prepare for the 2026 elections, this notice outlines the positions that will be open, the timelines involved, and the information you need to take part in the process. All members in good standing are eligible to put their name forward for open positions.

President and Vice-President Election Timelines
Both the President and Vice-President positions are open in 2026. These positions are elected for a three-year term.

Board of Directors Election Timelines
As these positions are elected for a three-year term, only some positions are open in 2026:
- Two board positions in the Calgary District
- One board position in the Central District
- Two Board positions in the Edmonton District
- One board position in the North District
- This is not an election year in the South District
