HSS corrects errors in some 2025 T4 slips issued

Health Shared Services (HSS) has advised the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) of an issue affecting a small number of 2025 T4 slips. 

HSS says T4s issued to 1,423 employees who are members of HSAA and the United Nurses of Alberta (UNA) incorrectly included two codes in Box 14: AHN (Acting Head Nurse) and ESG (Employee Shift Giveaway). These codes track hours or program costs only. They are not earnings and should not appear on T4s. 

The issue may also affect some Covenant Health employees who use the same payroll system. 

Most of the more than 167,000 T4s issued for 2025 were not affected, according to HSS. 

HSS Payroll has corrected the error. Amended T4 slips are now available in the payroll system. Affected employees should have received an e-People notification on Thursday, Feb. 26, directing them to their updated T4.
