The Health Sciences Association of Alberta stands in solidarity with the 10,000 CUPE flight attendants who are standing up for fairness, dignity and respect.
HSAA members know what it means to do critical, underappreciated work that the public depends on. No worker should be expected to give their time and energy for free. Every part of the work flight attendants perform, before, during and after a flight, is essential and deserves to be recognized and compensated.
We also reject government interference that undermines free collective bargaining. Forcing workers back on the job does not solve disputes. It weakens the rights of all unions and erodes the responsibility of employers to negotiate fairly. The right to strike is a freedom, and it must be protected.
We stand in solidarity with flight attendants in their fight for fairness and their rights as workers, and we will continue to support them until they secure a just agreement.
