Good Samaritan Bargaining Update #6

We met with The Good Samaritan Society (GSS) on January 23, 2026, to resume collective bargaining. At this meeting, we tabled our opening monetary proposals, including general wage increases, benefit enhancements, and other improvements to total compensation.

HSAA proposed a general wage increase of 12% over four years, consistent with other recently-reached Collective Agreements, as well as a Long Service Pay Adjustment for long-serving employees. The employer’s opening proposal fell well below our expectations.

While progress was slow, we did reach agreement on several non-wage issues.

Your committee will continue to fight for a fair and reasonable deal that respects the critical work that you do. Our next meeting with the Employer is February 27, at which time we will respond to their proposal.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.
