December 1 Staff Transfers from AHS to Provincial Health Agencies/Corporations

On October 28, 2025, the Government of Alberta issued a ministerial order regarding the transfer of unionized employees from Alberta Health Services (AHS) to newly created Provincial Health Agencies. Your current Collective Agreement will continue to apply. 

HSAA can confirm that 1,819 health-care professionals represented by HSAA will be transferred from AHS to one of the newly created Provincial Health Agencies or Provincial Health Corporations as part of the Government of Alberta’s ongoing health care restructuring effective December 1, 2025

Impacted members can expect to receive an official transfer notice at the beginning of November. These notices will contain further details specific to your position and new employer.

This transfer of members from AHS includes:

  • 49 members transitioning to "Acute Care Alberta".
  • 577 members transitioning to "Assisted Living Alberta".
  • 331 members transitioning to "Cancer Care Alberta".
  • 60 members transitioning to "Give Life Alberta".
  • 791 members transitioning to "Health Shared Services".
  • 7 members transitioning to "Primary Care Alberta".
  • 4 members transitioning to "Recovery Alberta".
