On September 1, health-care workers and supporters will gather across Canada as changes introduced through Bill 11 come into effect.
HSAA has 30,000 members who deliver essential healthcare services across Alberta every day. We know that strong patient care depends on a stable healthcare workforce.
Alberta’s health-care workforce is already stretched. Allowing more private-pay care will not create more health professionals. It risks pulling workers and capacity away from the public system which will make wait times in the public system longer than they already are.
Join the national day of action and stand up for a health-care system where people receive care based on need, not their ability to pay.
