Your bargaining committee wrapped up two more days of negotiations on February 26 and 27, 2025. While some progress was made, the employer continues to not meet our expectations for the pace of negotiations. In this set of negotiation dates we were able to sign off on two articles:
- Article 23 – Sick Leave
- Article 29 – Promotions, Transfers, and Vacancies
Despite these achievements, the employer's actions are slowing the pace of the negotiations, and we were unable to meet our goal of finalizing non-monetary discussions.
Covenant’s need for more time to conduct research before making decisions has left the bargaining committee feeling disappointed. The committee came prepared to move negotiations forward, but these delays from the employer have hindered progress.
The next bargaining dates are scheduled for April 8 and 9. Following that, the employer was not willing to commit to another meeting until June 4 and 5, despite your committee providing multiple availability options. These negotiations are our top priority, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to reaching an agreement that addresses the needs and priorities of our members. It is unfortunate that our employer is not reflecting that same commitment. However, we are hopeful that the April dates will result in the finalization of all non-monetary articles, allowing us to shift focus towards addressing monetary proposals.
