Your Bargaining Committee concluded another two days of negotiations on January 23 and January 24, 2025. Bargaining was much more productive in comparison to previous bargaining dates. We felt that the employer was finally prepared to move forward by providing fulsome response to all our outstanding non-monetary articles. The vast majority of time was spent in caucus (amongst our own respective committees), responding to the counter proposals your employer has brought to the table.
We were able to have some fulsome discussion with the employer which resulted in signing off four non-monetary articles along with two non-monetary Letters of Understanding. Our next bargaining dates are on February 26 and 27, 2025 where we are hopeful that we will be able to finish non-monetary and begin focusing on monetary.
Finally, it is with sadness that we advise that Nolan Roesch has accepted another position and, as a result, has stepped down from the Bargaining Committee. We would like to congratulate Nolan and wish him all the best in his new position. We would also like to thank Nolan for his hard work, wealth of experience and dedication as a committee member. Nolan has been a great asset to the committee and will be greatly missed by all of us.
Your committee remains persistent and dedicated to negotiating an agreement that speaks to members’ priorities and concerns.
