CBS (Technical) Bargaining Update #4

Since our last bargaining update in December 2025, there have been changes to both the HSAA and Canadian Blood Services (CBS) bargaining teams following the departure of the previous lead negotiators.

Both sides have now assigned new lead negotiators. For HSAA, Chris Bradshaw has joined Gina Schwengler on the bargaining team to help move negotiations forward.

Where discussions stand

HSAA met with CBS on July 31, 2026, to confirm where negotiations currently stand and discuss next steps. With other major public sector bargaining tables now completed, HSAA is focused on moving negotiations with CBS forward.

HSAA and CBS have confirmed bargaining dates for September 23 and 24, 2026.

At those meetings, your Bargaining Committee will continue working toward a fair and reasonable Collective Agreement that recognizes your skills, your work and the important services you provide to Albertans.
