Your Bargaining Committee was scheduled to meet with Carewest on September 11 and 12 2025; however, staffing changes at Carewest required the formation of a new employer bargaining committee, which resulted in those meeting being postponed to October 6 and 7.
During those meetings, we had productive discussions on a range of articles and Letters of Understanding. By the end of October 7, both parties had signed off on all non-monetary articles and Letters of Understanding, as well as some monetary articles, and agreed in principle on one Letter of Understanding.
Discussions on the remaining monetary items are still ongoing. As monetary items are generally the most complex part of the bargaining process, we anticipate these discussions may be more difficult than the non-monetary items.
Until this point, our discussions have been mostly cordial and positive, and we are hopeful that this will continue as we move forward with monetary items.
Due to Carewest’s limited availability, our next meetings have been scheduled for January 12 and 13.
We would also like to share a change to your bargaining committee. Lorraine Grover has retired, and we wish her all the best with her well-deserved retirement and thank her for her service on this bargaining process.
As bargaining continues, we're committed to keeping you informed through future updates.
If you have any comments, questions or input, please forward them to LorriR@hsaa.ca and FahadS@hsaa.ca.
