Board Update - October 10, 2025

Members,

Following a formal complaint about online activity, Sondra Baker has temporarily been removed from the Board of Directors of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta as of October 10th.

Our internal policies set clear expectations for the conduct of our representatives. These are grounded in respect, inclusion, and the belief that diversity makes our workplaces and communities stronger.

There is an investigation underway.

HSAA represents a diverse and multicultural membership of health care professionals who provide highly specialized care to Albertans every day. Our union is committed to creating safe, inclusive and respectful representation across our leadership and membership.

We will not be commenting further on this matter to protect the integrity of the complaint management process.
