We’d like to provide an update on the Recruitment & Retention Letter of Understanding (LOU) signed in October 2024 between HSAA and APL, which was created by APL to address staffing shortages at rural sites.
The original LOU was set to expire on March 31, 2025. However, since APL has not yet allocated all the funds outlined in the LOU, the parties have agreed to extend the expiration date to August 30, 2025.
Please note that this update only extends the expiration date of the original LOU and does not involve renegotiating any of its existing terms. Additionally, this LOU has no impact on our ongoing Collective Bargaining negotiations and does not limit us from proposing other recruitment and retention initiatives at the bargaining table.
If you have any questions about this new LOU, or anything else bargaining related, please reach out to your bargaining team at aplbargaining@hsaa.ca.
An email containing a link to the full LOU was sent to all APL Members on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Members interested in viewing the LOU in full can access it via that email or by reaching out to their Labour Relations Officer.
In solidarity,
Your APL Bargaining Team
