This is the first and final call for nominations for the following HSAA District Board Positions: 

  • Two (2) Edmonton
  • Two (2) Calgary
  • One (1) Central
  • One (1) North 

About these roles

HSAA is a member-led organization, which means our direction, priorities, and decisions are driven by you.

Key duties for Board Directors include gathering member input and bringing their perspectives to Board discussions and decisions, making decisions in the best interest of the entire membership, participating in strategic planning, approving the annual budget, and recommending and approving policy changes.

Who is eligible to be nominated?

  • All active members in good standing who work in their relevant district.
  • Each nomination must be supported by five nominators, all of which must be active members in good standing who work in the nominee's relevant district.

Election timeline

  • Nomination Period: April 1, 12:01 a.m. – April 8, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • Campaigning Period: April 9 – April 28, 2026, 12:00 p.m.
  • Voting Period: April 21 – April 28, 2026, 12:00 p.m.
  • Appeal Period: April 29 – May 5, 2026

Election Process and Term of Office

  • The election is conducted in accordance with Policy 2.01 Rules and Procedures for Executive Officers and Board Members Elections.
  • Further details, including when candidates may begin campaigning, are available under the “Election Campaigning Guidelines” section on the HSAA Elections webpage.
  • Elected Board members will be sworn in at Convention 2026.
  • They will take office at the conclusion of Convention 2026 for a three-year term, ending at the conclusion of Convention in 2029.
  • Board members may seek re-election at the end of their term. There is no limit on the number of terms they may serve.

During the nomination period:

Deadline for nominations: Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 11:59 p.m.

Important: This deadline applies to both:

  • nomination submissions, AND
  • the Nominee Confidentiality and Confirmation Form

Emails sent before the opening or after the closing of the nomination period will not be considered valid.
