Demand a better deal for Alberta health professionals

Albertans deserve expert medical care and treatment delivered by a team of well-supported and well-resourced health-care professionals.

But right now, unsustainable workloads, constant short staffing, and severe burnout are driving these critical professionals out of the health system and out of Alberta, creating a crisis in our hospitals and health centres.

Uncompetitive wages and poor working conditions are directly contributing to short-staffing, treatment delays, longer wait times, crowded hospitals, and a decline in care for patients.

HSAA members are united in calling for better. For themselves, and for all Albertans. The ask is simple: tell your MLA to support the people who provide the expert care families depend on every day.

From paramedics to pharmacists, addictions counsellors to social workers, Alberta relies on 30,000 HSAA members on the front lines of patient care every day—from emergency response right through to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

If Alberta doesn’t take action to keep or attract health professionals with better wages and working conditions, our province risks losing highly-specialized care in our province.

Alberta’s health-care professionals are the ones who keep care running. Together, we can demand a deal for them—but we have to act today, before the legislature goes back in session on October 27.

Write your MLA below. We’ve got the letter started for you.
