Mourning the passing of first responders

We woke up this morning to the devastating news that two Edmonton police officers have been killed in the line of duty.

Constables Brett Ryan and Travis Jordan were responding to a domestic disturbance call when they were shot.

We mourn their passing and honour their sacrifice.

Tragedies like this impact the entire first-responder community. We are all linked in the work we do as a family of dedicated professionals who respond when people need help.

Now we need to take the time to support each other.

We encourage everyone impacted by what has happened to reach out to others and talk about how you are feeling. If you are overwhelmed please take advantage of your Employee Family Assistance Programs.

It’s moments like this that we need to check in on ourselves and our colleagues. It’s moments like this where we must be there for each other.

In solidarity,

Mike and Leanne
